My Dream Vacation

A dream vacation would be a vacation where time and money were not obstacles, and I would be able to do as much as I wanted with that time and money. As such, my dream vacation would be similar to the grand tours of Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries. The grand tour of Europe was a tradition of the aristocracy in the 17th and 18th centuries. Young men from wealthy families would spend several months traveling across Europe visiting historical sites, learning foreign languages and other things like art and dance. If I had the time and money I would like to have a grand tour of Europe.

I might start in Ireland before proceeding through Scotland and England. Then I would go through France, Spain and Portugal. Next, I would return through Spain and France and go to Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Poland. Finally, I would turn back around and go through the Czech Republic, Austria and several smaller Balkan states before finishing my tour by visiting Greece and Turkey.

On my grand tour I would like to spend between one week to two months in each country depending on my interest in the country and its size. In particular, I would like to spend 2 months in France as I would like some time to practice speaking French and perhaps take some French language lessons.

I’ve always had an interest in history so there are many historical places I would like to visit throughout Europe and many works of art I would like to see. I particularly would like to see Mont Saint Michel, Vence, Alhambra, the Parthenon and Hagia Sophia. However, there are many other historical places where I would love to visit.

The other great point of this being a dream vacation and money not being a problem is that I could travel in luxury. Usually when I travel, I stay at hostels, capsule hotels and other cheap accommodations, but if I was on a grand tour of Europe, I could afford to stay at the most luxurious accommodations possible. I could stay at 5-star hotels and after spending the day exploring foreign countries I could relax in luxury. I also would be able to always stay at hotels with spas, saunas, and massage therapists.

Similarly, since money is no obstacle, I could also eat at the most expensive restaurants. I would have French cuisine prepared by famous chefs and eat rare and expensive foods. That said, often cheaper local food and even street food is very delicious so I would still try to eat at some cheaper restaurants.

The main reason why this would be such a great way to travel is that I could spend more time getting to know each country and city. It would not just be a quick tour, so I could take the time to get to know each place, its culture, its people, and its cuisine.

I think this type of vacation would be my dream vacation, but unfortunately, I don’t have the time or the money for such a big luxurious vacation. Maybe if one day I make a lot of money and become a multimillionaire, I will be able to have such a vacation.
